I have been a proud member of this school community since 2004. I have served as an English teacher, English Department Chair, Basketball coach for both girls & boys, Dean of Students, Magnet Coordinator, Instructional Specialist, and currently I am the Assistant Principal.
I attended Talladega College, a Historically Black College/ University, located in Alabama, where I majored in education. I also became a member of Alph Phi Alpha Fraternity via the Alpha Beta chapter of the fraternity during my tenure there. Initially, I arrived on campus with an athletic scholarship for basketball, and found myself a member of: Gospel choir, Vice President of the Student Government Association (SGA), Voted Mr. Junior / Senior of my graduating class, President of the Alpha Beta Chapter of my fraternity, and a Honda Campus All-Star (HCASC)- quiz bowl team.
I hail from Detroit, Michigan, and I have an affinity for the arts and literature. It has been my desire to be an educator since I was a teenager, and I am living my dream!
Favorite quote: Love is passion, obsession, someone you can't live without. I say, fall head over heels. Find someone you can love like crazy and who will love you the same way back. How do you find them? Well, you forget your head, and you listen to your heart. Cause the truth is, there's no sense living your life without this. To make the journey and not fall deeply in love, well, you haven't lived a life at all. But you have to try, cause if you haven't tried, you haven't lived. - William Parrish (Meet Joe Black)
